I will preface by stating I own a minor version of Inroads which I use for programming and testing. I have not used InRoads SS3 so I would need to know more about it. I do use MicroStation, so maybe I can apply some of that know how.
My company switched to Bentley SELECT Open Access recently. We own MicroStation, InRoads, and other Bentley software. The side by side comparison of SELECT and SELECT Open Access made the open subscription look like a winner. We could have access to LEARN training and be able to license additional software on a quarterly basis.
I had removed the software close to the count of licenses and created a VM with the software for casual use. Unfortunately the VP has okayed install on additional installs because of pressure from departments. We converted licenses between InRoads and MicroStation because of overages that made Bentley sales call often asking to buy more licensing. Now we are getting overages on InRoads which historically had lower usage.
I have a text/excel file that contains hundreds of station and offsets of specific locations (ie. new utility pole locations to be placed). I want to know how I can import this information into Inroads relative to a particular baseline and then generate cogo points. Does anyone know how to do this? This is an Inroads question.
If you start a design scenario where a single user is creating multiple designs, and if you start an InRoads instance for one design and then start another InRoads instance for another design, you'll end up with two versions of the software with the same license key being used and if you try to allow access to both versions of the software, you will get a silent failure and no warning message.
With both InRoads and MicroStation, the licensed product can have multiple users. You can have multiple users accessing the same licensed software but a separate active license is required for each user. For instance, if you are tasked with designing a building and you use multiple models in your design, you'll need a single user license for the building design, a single user license for the interior design, a single user license for the exterior design and a single user license for the MEP, and any number of single user user licenses for the roads, etc. etc. 7211a4ac4a
